ASASE ABAN WORKCAMP

WORKCAMP ANNOUNCEMENT

This workcamp is organized for watershed restoration and conservation activities like tree planting or re- forestation, prevention of bush fire or fire fighting.

Second Workcamp: 12th June to 1st July

15-30 volunteers

AGES

  • 18 and above from all African countries
  • 16 and above from other countries
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    Tree planting(Peg cutting, pegging and planting)

    ACCOMMODATION

    Volunteers usually live together in a communal fashion and housing can be quite simple. Typical accommodations are a church, classroom, town hall, etc.

    LOCATION

    Begro in the Eastern Region of Ghana

    RECREATION/VISIT/EXCURSION

  • For recreation we have varieties of fun activities such as African songs, drumming and dancing, African culture night, foreign culture night, soccer and other games.


  • Volunteers will have an opportunity to visit the chief in his palace and other personalities in the community


  • BEGRO

    There will be organized tours to some tourist centers around BEGRO such attractions include a butterfly Sanctuary where the largest butterfly in Africa can be found, Boti falls, Akosombo Volta lake cruise which is the largest man made lake in the world.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Volunteers should be able to communicate or at least speak a little English and be willing to work hard in outdoor setting, be tolerant and be willing to comply with FANVO camp regulations.
